Find the surface area of a ball if the area of its larger section is 9 m².

To find the surface area of a sphere, there is a formula:

S = 4 * п * R ^ 2, where S is the surface area of the sphere; P is a constant equal to 3.14; R is the radius of the sphere.

We don’t know the radius, but we can extract it from the formula for the area of a circle:

S =п * R ^ 2;

We know that п = 3.14, and S = 9. Substitute these values into the formula and solve as equations. The values may not be accurate, but the margin of error is small.

9 = 3.14 * R ^ 2;

R ^ 2 = 2.86;

R = 1.7.

Substitute the radius into the formula for the area of the ball and get:

S = 4 * 3.14 * 2.86 = 35.9 (m2)
