| First, find the length of one edge. We have volume. To find the volume, you need to multiply the height by the length and by the width. Because this is a cube, all these measurements are equal, and to find the size of the edge, you need to find the cube root of the volume indicator:
The cubic root of 64 = 8 (centimeters) is the edge of a cube.
The cube has 6 faces, we find the area of one and multiply by 6:
8 * 8 = 64 (cm2) – the area of one face.
Surface area:
64 * 6 = 60 * 6 + 4 * 6 = 360 + 24 = 384 (cm2)
In total, the cube has 12 edges, which means the length of all the edges:
12 * 8 = 8 * 10 + 8 * 2 = 80 = 16 = 96 (cm).
Answer: the length of all ribs is 96 cm, and the surface area is 384 cm2.
