Find the unknown side of the parallelogram if its heights are 7 cm and 5 cm, and the side to which the lower height is drawn is 14 cm.
The area of a parallelogram can be defined as the product of its side by the height lowered to this side: S = a * h1.
One of the sides of this parallelogram is 14 cm, and the side drawn to it is 5 cm, hence S = 14 * 5 = 70 cm2.
The unknown side can be found by dividing the area into a greater height:
b = S / h2 = 70/7 = 10 cm.
