Find the vertex of the parabola y = -2x ^ 2 + 5x-6.

| The vertex of any parabola is its extremum.
In order to find the extremum of any function, it is necessary to equate its derivative to zero:
Y = (-2) * X ^ 2 + 5 * X – 6
Y ‘= (-4) * X + 5
Y ‘= 0, so (-4) * X + 5 = 0
X = 1.25.
In this case, the Y coordinate = (-2) * 1.25 ^ 2 + 5 * 1.25 – 6 = (-3.125) + 0.25 = -3.1
