Find the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped if: 1) its width is 2.5 cm and is 5/8 of the height

Find the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped if: 1) its width is 2.5 cm and is 5/8 of the height, and its length is 3.4 times 2) its height is 3.5 cm and is 0.7 wide, length is 2.4 times the width.

By definition of the volume of a rectangular parallelepiped:

V = a * b * h.

Where a – width, b – length, h – height.

a) If a = 2.5 cm, then h = (8/5 * 2.5) cm, and b = (3.4 * 2.5) cm.

Substitute the numerical values into the volume formula:

V = 2.5 * (3.4 * 2.5) * (8/5 * 2.5) = 85 (cm ^ 3).

Answer: V = 85 cm ^ 3.

b) If h = 3.5 cm, then a = (3.5 / 0.7) cm, and b = 2.4 * (3.5 / 0.7) cm.

Substitute the numerical values into the volume formula:

V = (3.5 / 0.7) * 2.4 * (3.5 / 0.7) * 3.5 = 210 (cm ^ 3).

Answer: V = 210 cm ^ 3.
