Calculations by the formulas of substances:
M (CaCO3) = 100 g / mol;
M (CO2) = 44 g / mol:
m (CaCO3) = 60 * (1 – 0.25) = 45 g (mass without impurity).
Determine the amount of the original substance:
Y (CaCO3) = m / M = 45/100 = 0.45 mol;
Y (CO2) = 0.45 mol since the amount of substances according to the equation is 1 mol.
Find the volume of the product:
V (CO2) = 0.45 * 22.4 = 10.08 L
Answer: the volume of carbon dioxide is 10.08 liters
