| A cylinder is a geometric body obtained by rotating a rectangle around its side.
The volume of a cylinder is the product of its base area by its height:
V = Sb. * H, where:
V is the volume of the cylinder;
Sosn. – base area;
H is the height.
Since the base of the cylinder is a circle, then:
Sosn. = πR ^ 2;
Sosn. = 3.14 * 3 ^ 2 = 3.14 * 9 = 28.26 cm2.
V = 28.26 * 2 = 56.52 cm3.
Answer: the volume of the cylinder is 56.52 cm3.
