Folk omens to predict the weather by the clouds?

In ancient times, when they did not even think about creating weather stations, people learned to predict the nature of the upcoming weather by many natural factors. Clouds were one of these factors.

A person watched the nature of the movement of the clouds, how low they were, whether they were transparent or thicker, and only then made conclusions about the upcoming weather.

Now, had we got these meteorological speculations, we would hardly have treated them with due attention. But then, many years ago, this science was given a lot of time.

So, here is a small list of ancient weather legends:

Clouds in the form of stripes in summer – for rain (in winter – for warmth);
If the clouds are rare, the weather should be clear and cool;
If the clouds are layered and move quickly – to a strong wind (if slowly – to rain);
If the clouds curled and rose too high – expect heavy rain or even a storm;
If the clouds are in the form of lumps, then it will not rain for a long time (if the clouds are flat, the downpour will be prolonged);
If in the morning the fog “rises in a column” – to the rain;
The whitish hue of the clouds above the water, they quickly disappear at sunrise – the weather will be clear.
