a) Interaction of propene and water in an acidic environment:
C3H6 + H2O = C3H7OH
As a result of the reaction, the substance propanol – 1 is formed.
b) The second reaction is the propene polymerization reaction. The chemical equation for the reaction is as follows:
nCH2 = CH – CH3 = (—CH2 — CH — CH3) n.
