Hooke’s Law is a statement according to which the deformation arising in an elastic body (spring, rod, console, beam, etc.) is proportional to the force applied to this body. Discovered in 1660 by the English scientist Robert Hooke. Hooke’s law is fulfilled only for small deformations, if these are elastic deformations, that is, for those bodies that can return to their initial position.
