Forces of 40H and 240H act at the ends of the arm. The distance from the fulcrum to the point of application

Forces of 40H and 240H act at the ends of the arm. The distance from the fulcrum to the point of application of the lesser force is 6cm. Determine the arm length if it is in equilibrium.

Given:
F1 = 40H,
F2 = 240H,
l1 = 6cm = 0.06m;
To find:
L -?
The length of the lever is equal to the sum of the arms of the two forces.
L = l1 + l2;
We find the shoulder of the second force from the leverage rule:
F1 * l1 = F2 * l2;
From here we find:
l2 = l1 * (F1 / F2) = 0.06m * (40N / 240N) = 0.01m = 1cm;
L = 1cm + 6cm = 7cm.
