When a hydra is divided into many parts, a new organism will grow from each. This proves that hydra has the ability to regenerate, which is provided by intermediate cells. They enter the outer layer of the hydra (ectoderm). These cells are undifferentiated, so they can turn into other types of cells (except epithelial-muscular).
