From points A and B, the distance between which is 200 km, one tourist drove towards each other at the same time by bus at a speed of 40 km / h, and the other by car. Find the speed of the car knowing that they met 2 hours later.

1. Let’s determine how many kilometers a tourist traveled by bus in 2 hours, if it is said that the bus was traveling at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.

2 * 40 = 80 kilometers.

2. We find out which way the second tourist traveled by car, if it is known that out of 200 kilometers 80 kilometers the first tourist traveled by bus.

200 – 80 = 120 kilometers.

3. Let’s find the speed at which the car was traveling if it is known that it traveled 120 kilometers in 2 hours.

120/2 = 60 kilometers.

Answer: The car was traveling at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
