From the two cities, two trains set off to meet each other at the same time. The speed of one is 60 km / h, the other travels 20 km more in 1 hour. After 3 hours and 30 minutes, the trains met. Find the distance between cities.
One train traveled to the meeting in 3 hours 30 minutes (= 3.5 hours) at a speed of 60 km / h, let’s calculate the distance traveled by it:
60 * 3.5 = 210 (km).
The second car was traveling at a speed of 60 + 20 = 80 km / h, it also drove 3.5 hours, let’s calculate its distance:
80 * 3.5 = 280 (km).
This means that both cars covered a distance of 210 + 280 = 490 (km).
Answer: the distance between cities is 490 km.
