From two cities A and B, the distance between which is 324 km, two trains left towards each other: from A at 8 a.m. at a speed of 32 km / h, and from B at 10 a.m. at a speed of 33 km / h. At what time and at what distance from city A the trains met.

1. Let’s take as x the time, after which the second train will come to the meeting point.

2. The first train left the station of departure 10 – 8 = 2 hours earlier than the other and was on the way for (x + 2) hours.

3. Make the equation:

32 (x + 2) + 33x = 324;

32x + 64 + 33x = 324;

65x = 260;

x = 4 hours.

4. The trains will meet at 10 + 4 = 14 hours at a distance of 33 x 4 = 132 kilometers from the city A.
