| In total, twelve pairs of cranial nerves are distinguished in the nervous system:
– one pair emerges from the cerebral cortex
– three pairs come out of the midbrain
– four pairs coming out of the bridge
– five pairs come out of the medulla oblongata
All of these nerves are related to the PNS.
