To begin with, absolutely all cells of living organisms are either eukaryotes or prokaryotes. So they have very different functions. It is impossible to name the functions of this or that type of cells. We can name the main differences between eukaryotes and prokaryotes. The main difference is that prokaryotes do not have a nucleus, lysosomes, Golgi complex and other elements with a shell. DNA information moves through the cell in free form. Eukaryotes are more complex, have a nucleus and other elements, and so on. Eukaryotes evolved from prokaryotes.
