General characteristics of East Africa.

East Africa has an elevated topography with an average height of about a thousand meters above sea level. On the western side of the entire region stretches the East African Rift Valley, which is a fault zone. Because of it, there is volcanic and seismic activity in this region, there are extinct and active volcanoes. Almost all of East Africa is located on a plateau with a predominantly flat topography. The climate is hot with rainy and dry seasons. The region is almost completely covered by savannas.
