General formula of esters.

The general formula for esters can be written in two ways.
1) R’-COOR “(the dashes indicate that the radicals can be different). For example, H3C-COOCH3 is a methyl ester of acetic acid.
2) CnH2nO2. For example, n = 2, which means that C2H4O2 is HCOOCH3, in other words, methyl ester of formic acid.
