This continent is “registered” in the northern part of the Western Hemisphere of our planet. The area of this continent, together with the islands, is almost twenty-five million square kilometers. A little more than 560 million people live on this continent. This is approximately seven percent of the world’s population. One of the longest rivers that flow through this continent is the Mississippi. The length of this river is almost three thousand eight hundred kilometers.
