China’s population is the largest in the world. The total number is approximately 1.35 billion. China is a multinational state, but the titular nation – Han – makes up about 95% of the total population. Most of the population is concentrated in the east and south of the country in the Pearl River area, as well as in the Yangtze and Yellow River area.

In China, urbanization is currently no more than 55%. And its level is gradually increasing with the development and consolidation of millionaire cities, which are industrial centers.
