If you look at the moon during a period when it is not full, you will notice that the reflection of the sun’s rays on it has a curvature. This phenomenon is caused by the fact that the Moon is behind the planet, as a result of which sunlight passes by the surface of the planet, reflecting its shadow on the satellite.
Looking at the horizon, the viewing angle will be limited, so we will only see a small part of the surface.
If you stand a little higher at this point, the view of the surface will increase.
