Signs of determining the sides of the horizon:
• In ravines, snow melts faster on the northern slope.
• Moss on rocks, roofs, and trees grows on the north side.
• The red barrel of fruits and berries is facing south.
• Anthills are built near trees and stones on the south side.
• By the polar star. To determine where is south and where is north, you just need to look directly at the pole star on the right side there will be east, on the left – west, behind – south.
• By the sun. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. This means that if you stand so that your right hand is where the sun rises, and your left hand is where it sets, then there will be north in front, and south behind.
• And of course the compass.
