As a result of an increase in the number of people, a person is developing more and more territories for his needs, and natural zones and their inhabitants suffer from this. For example, in the south of Russia there used to be vast zones of real steppes, which had fertile soil and were covered with tall grass. Most of these steppes have now turned into agricultural land.
Another natural area, tropical forests, is cut down to obtain valuable wood species, freeing up places for agriculture, etc.
