Give examples of the influence of the autonomic nervous system on organs.

The human nervous system is subdivided into somatic (external reaction) and vegetative. The latter is responsible for the regulation of the functions of many internal organs and body systems. For example, it is responsible for the work of the heart (regulates its contraction), is responsible for the activity of the gastrointestinal tract (intestinal peristalsis), etc. In turn, the autonomic nervous system is divided into sympathetic and parasympathetic, which act opposite to each other. The sympathetic enhances the body’s functions: increased heart rate, increased sweat production, etc. (when running), and the parasympathetic calms the body – the heart rate decreases, etc. (during rest).
