Give examples of the principles of law.

The principles of law are the fundamental ideas and guiding principles that define the whole essence of law.

Types of principles of law and their examples:

1) General principles (characterize law in general, inherent in all branches of law)

Examples of general principles of law are the principle of humanism (a person, his rights and freedoms are the highest value), the principle of legality (strict observance of the rules of law by all subjects of social relations, the rule of law), the principle of justice (punishment in proportion to the nature of the deed), etc.

2) Cross-sectoral principles (inherent in several related branches of law)

Examples: the adversarial principle is inherent in the procedural branches of law (civil procedural law, criminal procedural law); the principle of personal responsibility – in criminal and administrative law, etc.

3) Industry principles (reflect the fundamental principles in a specific branch of law).

For example, in civil law – the principle of equality of parties, the presumption of guilt (a citizen is guilty until he proves his innocence); in labor law – the principle of freedom of labor (everyone has the right to freely dispose of their abilities to work), etc.
