Give examples that show the role of plants in animal life.

Plants are the most important producers; Plants use energy from sunlight to convert carbon dioxide into glucose (or other sugars). Algae and cyanobacteria are producers that produce food through photosynthesis. The bacteria living around deep sea vents are from other producers. These bacteria use energy from chemicals from within the earth to make sugars. Animals use this energy in the process of breathing.
