Give examples when the body: a) floats on the surface of a liquid, b) floats, completely immersed in the liquid, c) drowns. Explain them using the floating condition of bodies.

a) A body floats on the surface of a liquid if its density ρt is less than the density of the liquid ρl in which it is located. On a body with mass m and volume V from the side of the earth, the force of gravity Ft directed downward acts, it is equal to: Ft = m ∙ g = ρt ∙ g ∙ V, where the acceleration of gravity g = 9.8 N / kg. From the side of the liquid, the buoyant force Fв, directed upwards, acts on the body, which is according to the Archimedes law: Fв = ρж ∙ g ∙ V. If Fв> Fт, then the resultant of the forces will be directed upwards and the body will float. For example, wooden bodies, objects inflated with air float on the surface of the water.
b) The body floats, completely immersed in the liquid, if its average density ρt is equal to the density of the liquid ρl, in which it is located. For example, marine animals, underwater swimming mechanisms.
c) The body sinks if its density ρt is greater than the density of the liquid ρw in which it is located. These are, for example, stone or metal bodies in water.
