Given 2 bases of the trapezoid – 5 and 3 cm, the area is 4 cm2, by what formula to find the height?

The area of a trapezoid is found by multiplying the half-sum of the bases by its height (one of several ways to calculate the area). Knowing the area, you can transform this formula to find the unknown height, which will be equal to the ratio of the area of the trapezoid to the sum of the bases, multiplied by 0.5:
h = S / 0.5 * (a + b);
h = 4 / 0.5 * (5 + 3);
h = 4 / 0.5 * 8;
h = 4/4;
h = 1 cm – trapezoid height.
