Given: A (-3; -1); B (-1; 0); C (0; -2) Find: 1) coordinates of vector AB 2) coordinates of the midpoint of vector BC

Given: A (-3; -1); B (-1; 0); C (0; -2) Find: 1) coordinates of vector AB 2) coordinates of the midpoint of vector BC 3) length of vector AB 4) coordinates of vector -0.2AC + 2AB

1) vector AB (-1 – (-3); 0 – (-1)) = (2; 1) (we took the coordinates of point B first, and then only A);
2) Let O (x; y) be the midpoint of BC, then we calculate:
x = (-1 + 0) / 2 = -0.5 (we took the coordinates of points C and B);
y = (0 – 2) / 2 = -1;
The point will have coordinates: O (-0.5; -1).
3) | AB | = √ (2² + 1²) = √ (4 + 1) = √5;
4) calculated the coordinates of the vector AC (3; -1);
calculated the coordinates of the vector AB (2; 1);
calculate separately: -0.2AC (-0.6; 0.2); 2AB (4; 2);
-0.2AC + 2AB – (3.4; 2.2).
