According to Thales’ theorem: parallel straight lines divide the sides of an angle in the same ratio. In this case: MK is parallel to the AC, BM / AM = 2 => BK / KC = BM / AM = 2 => KC = BK / 2 = 16/2 = 8 (cm). BC = BK + KC = 16 + 8 = 24 (cm).
Answer: BC = 24 cm.
