These are stained glass windows. Multi-colored glass can form a single composition and convey a plot or depict the image of saints. Stained-glass windows were more common in various large cathedrals and temples. In small churches, ordinary glass was usually installed, since stained glass is very expensive and few craftsmen can make them. Also, often large stained-glass windows were made on a special metal frame with metal partitions, so that in the process of working the glass kept the shape that the master gave it.
