Habitat of the amoeba.
For life, an amoeba needs fresh water – both a large reservoir and a drop on a moss leaf, any puddle, swamp, wet soil, and even an animal’s body (dysentery amoeba) are suitable. That. it is widespread, and migration is facilitated by the ability to form a cyst – to be covered with a dense membrane, and to endure unfavorable conditions at this stage. Cysts are very light, they are carried by the wind far from the old habitat, and if they enter a favorable environment in the form of a new reservoir (or any humid place with a comfortable temperature), an amoeba leaves it and continues its life. In addition to the well-known type of amoeba, there are also shell amoebas. Their habitat is no different from the Proteus amoeba. Also, there is a parasitic amoeba, it causes amoebiasis in humans.
