Have there been conflicts between England and its North Americans.

There were certainly conflicts between the mother country (England) and its North American colonies. These conflicts ultimately led to a civil war.
At first, conflicts arose because of the economic policy pursued by the British government with respect to its colonies in North America. Decisions to adopt a new tax, or to increase existing ones, were made exclusively by the government, without the participation of representatives of the colonies. And the decisions themselves had a negative impact on the economic situation of the colonists.
