Higher plants cover the land, live at the bottom of rivers, ponds and shallow lakes, but at the bottom of the seas and oceans, they are almost never found. Why?

It’s all about the lack of sunlight, namely the rays of the spectrum that chlorophyll can absorb. Light waves of the required length for higher plants do not penetrate to great depths. However, a lot of algae live in the thickness and at the bottom of the ocean. They can exist in such conditions because they have different pigments for photosynthesis, which receive rays from a different part of the spectrum.
