How and what do butterflies and their larvae eat?

1. Butterflies feed with the help of a long proboscis, which performs a suction function during feeding. Butterflies feed on nutrients dissolved in water, mainly sweet juices of despised fruits, flower nectar and even sugar solutions. To determine the taste of a nutrient, the butterfly must lower its front legs into it, on which the taste buds of the butterfly are located.
2. Larvae of butterflies – caterpillars, feed with the help of a gnawing mouth apparatus. Therefore, they easily consume solid food, unlike butterflies. They eat the green part of the plants, less often the fruits.
