How and when did the reconquista end?

The reconquista ended in 1492 with the storming of Granada, a Muslim city on the territory of modern Spain. This task was completed by Ferdinand and Isabella. In the same year, Columbus sailed to the Western Hemisphere and reached the Caribbean Sea, although he believed that he had arrived in India, thus, this year became a kind of border between the Middle Ages and modern times. The process of the Reconquista, that is, the liberation of the Christian lands of the Iberian Peninsula, has been going on since 718 AD from the north of modern Spain (Asturias).
