How and where did the Greeks know about the return of independence to the cities of Hellas.

They learned about this after rumors spread that the Romans were able to defeat the Macedonian troops at the Battle of Pydna. Thus, the Greeks decided that the Romans kept their word and freed them from the oppression of the Macedonians. But the Romans did not keep their word and made the Greeks their subordinates, that is, they turned Greece into one of their provinces, while the Greeks became dependent on Rome.
