How and why did the USSR’s foreign policy change in the 1930s?

The USSR had no allies among the world powers, was not a member of the League of Nations, which made its international position deplorable.

Foreign policy changed in three stages:

1.From 1928 to 1933, the USSR established allied relations with Germany and other countries, moved to China, and became more active in Afghanistan and Iran.

2.From 1933 to 1939, relations with Britain, France and the United States were being established, while at the same time the USSR was trying to maintain its influence in the East.

3. From 1939 to 1941, there was a sharp deterioration in relations with Britain and France. which were previously formed on an anti-Hitler basis; the USSR is drawing closer to Germany and Japan.
