How are clouds and fog similar and different?

Fog and clouds are similar in that they are composed of water vapor. These natural phenomena are formed due to the fact that water, under the influence of solar heat, evaporates in large quantities from the surface of water reservoirs and soil. Their difference is that clouds are capable of rising with updrafts up to a height of several kilometers, while fog is always close to the surface. Clouds are denser than fog. If the ascending currents raise with them the water vapor of the fog, then with height it also turns into a cloud.
