How are conservatives different from revolutionaries?

Conservatives and revolutionaries are two polar opposite trends. The Conservatives sought to reinforce all the old tendencies. They assumed that the autocratic monarchy would remain, which would gradually introduce new reforms. For the conservatives, it was important to preserve the traditions and foundations that had formed over a long time, while the revolutionaries, on the contrary, sought to destroy everything and build a new state on the rubble of the old one. They considered progressive movements in development to be ineffective.
