How are deserts different from semi-deserts?

To the south of the steppe zone, there are semi-desert and desert zones. Semi-deserts are still characterized by the characteristics of the steppes, this is expressed in the presence of a grass cover, wormwood, some types of shrubs, and representatives of cereal grasses grow here. The climate is hot, frequent droughts, precipitation is present, but rarely. However, in the deserts, the weather becomes even hotter, the air temperatures here already rise to around sixty degrees. There are often strong winds, practically no precipitation. It is dominated by extremely poor soils with clays, stones, a lot of sand, and therefore there is very little vegetation, it is represented by cacti, ephemera, and plants with long roots that can find moisture deep in the ground.
