How are ecology and economics related?

Greening economic development has led to the emergence of a new branch of scientific knowledge – environmental economics. It is based on the close relationship between economic and environmental problems. In order to understand them, it is necessary, first of all, to determine what the economy and the environment are, as well as what problems they face. Economics has many definitions. Most often it is customary to consider it from three positions: Economics as a science; Economy as a set of relations; Economy as a management system. As a special branch of scientific knowledge, economics is nothing more than a set of social sciences that study the processes of production, distribution and consumption of material goods. On the other hand, the economy is an economic system that is designed to ensure the satisfaction of the needs of human society through the production and use of economic benefits that take the form of goods and / or services. In other words, it is a system of relations that arise between people in connection with the processes underlying the satisfaction of material needs.
