How are lizards different from crocodiles?

Crocodiles and lizards are two different types of reptiles. Crocodiles, alligators and caimans belong to the Crocodile Series. Crocodiles belong to the Crocodylidae family in that order. They have various adaptations to the aquatic lifestyle. The lizards belong to the Scaly family, along with snakes. There are many different families of lizards, including Varanids (lizards such as the Komodo dragon), Chameleons (chameleons), and Geckos (geckos). Crocodiles are not dinosaurs, descendants of dinosaurs, or ancestors of birds. Crocodiles and dinosaurs evolved from a common ancestor, while birds descend from certain types of dinosaurs.
