How are metabolism and energy exchange related?

Metabolism is directly related to the exchange of energy. Any cell receives energy from the oxidation of complex organic substances, such as glucose. It is glucose that is the main source of energy for living things. When a person is in the hospital and he cannot feed on his own, he is injected with glucose intravenously and so the person can live normally for a long time. Energy cannot come out of nowhere. That is why the exchange of energy directly depends on the flow of organic substances into the cells and the body as a whole.
