How are nerve and connective tissue similar?

Connective tissue is composed of the proteins elastin and collagen. The connective tissue forms the “skeleton” of the body. It is basically the supportive tissue that forms the cavities and contains everything where it should be. The connective tissue acts as a binder that holds and protects the various organs of the body. Connective tissue comes in a wide variety of types: adipose tissue, bone, ligaments, tendons, and even blood. Nerve tissue has a complex structure consisting of a neural network and various types of cells. Nerve tissue contains two types of cells: neurons, which are specialized cells that respond to stimuli and conduct nerve impulses, and neuroglia, which are cells that provide structure and metabolic support.
