How are plants different from other living organisms?

Between plants and other kingdoms of living nature, the main and fundamental difference is their method of nutrition. Plants, unlike other organisms, can independently create organic substances necessary for their existence. In the process of feeding, the roots of a plant from the soil receive the necessary minerals, metals, etc. together with water, and the leaves are involved in photosynthesis. The rest of the organisms feed directly on plants, enter into symbiosis with it, or parasitize on them for food.
