How are some molluscs adapted to live in a surf zone?

Molluscs living in the surf zone have adaptations to survive in such extreme conditions. So that the wave does not throw them on the shore or far into the vastness of the ocean, they have large, more layers, streamlined shells. The leg and underside of the mantle of the mollusk allows it to securely attach to the bottom and hold a large shell. If the mollusk breaks away from the bottom, then it folds into a ring. This allows the body to survive while changing its habitat.
