How are stomatal cells different from other leaf skin cells?

The cells of the leaf skin have a dense membrane. They do not have a special color – colorless (this is a special device for the passage of sunlight to the lower cellular layers of the leaf). The stomatal cells have in their structure chloroplasts, which contain a green pigment – chlorophyll. Therefore, they are green. The stomatal cells, also called guard cells, also have a dense membrane, but its density is uneven along the entire length of the cell. It is denser at the junction of two closed cells, which form the stomatal gap.
