How are the problems of photosynthesis and food supply for the world’s population interconnected?

Photosynthesis is directly related to the problem of providing food for living organisms. Plants are capable of photosynthesis. This gives them an autotrophic type of nutrition. That is, they can independently create organic matter. Heterotrophs cannot do this. Therefore, they eat autotrophs and other heterotrophs. The biomass of plants is much greater than the biomass of herbivores, and the biomass of herbivores, in turn, is greater than the biomass of predators. Therefore, a sufficient number of photosynthetic plants provides humans and other animals with plant and animal food.
